Where did a whole year go?

Wow! I can not believe it has been over a year since my last post. Well, actually I can....raising two children and working full-time in a job that doesn't end when you walk out the door, oh and trying to be a good wife, daughter, sister, and friend....might cause one to exit the blog world. Balancing all of our roles in life can be a challenge, but one I am grateful to take on. However, I really enjoyed sharing my journey along the way....I'm not a scrapbooker so blogging was a way for me to record our memories and share my thoughts. So I hope, as time allows, to blog again. Nonetheless, I know many of you want to know what happened in my year of absence from "The Hulsey House" well here's to 2010....

In January, I was 8 months pregnant (crazy!). My family gave me a surprise baby shower since I needed boy stuff!

In February, we became a family of 4. It was amazing! Martin Grant Hulsey joined our family February 26th!

Watching Maeve when we brought her baby brother home for the first time was love like I have never experienced.

She wanted his homecoming to be a party (Maeve has a reason to have party almost weekly!) With the help of her Nana, Martin was welcomed home with lots of balloons

and of course a cake!

In March, I was a stay at home mom trying to adjust to a toddler and a newborn. Oh boy was it tough....I look back now and think how did I survive! When you have a baby AND a 3 year old, it doesn't matter that you only slept 2 hours the night before your 3 old is ready to go first thing in the morning. There is no "sleep when the baby sleeps" with baby #2! But we adjusted and we made it!

In April, Britt and I celebrated 6 years of marriage and Maeve caught her first trout (yes this is a milestone in our family!).

In May,we made our first road trip as a family of 4 to Goat Island, SC to see some good friends.

we also finally agreed to "trim" Maeve's hair for the very first time. Mrs. Patti who has done my hair forever, was so great with her. She even gave her a french braid, Maeve was so proud!

as of this month Hulsey Tree, Inc. has been in business for 14 years!

In June, my baby girl turned 3 (I had no idea what I was in for with a 3 year old!). We had our traditional birthday at home with family and a few friends. This year I let her pick out what she wanted for a theme so we went to Party City and picked out beach and flip flop things (that's my girl!)

Here is the video I made for her 3rd birthday....

She got her very first swingset from us and her grandparents, which she loves! (installed by daddy and a few friends...lots of blood and sweat in that thing!)

We took Maeve to see Storytime Live at the Fox Theater (her first time), so fun!!!

Of course cotton candy is a must....

and a child must be introduced to the Varsity as soon as possible....

We had lots of playdates, swimming, and boat time on the lake!

In July, we had more swimming, lake time, and Martin's 1st 4th of July.

My cousin from California, Summer, came to visit, I hadn't seen her since I was 6 years old!! We made sure she received true Southern hospitality.

In August, I celebrated my last year in my 20's....

and Uncle Nathan won the Republican run-off for Governor!

In September, we spent most of our time in the mountains somewhere. Here we are in Blue Ridge at Lindsey and Steven's cabin.

We spent a weekend at the Hulsey's house on Lake Rabun. Harriett and Juke had just gotten back from spending their 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii...they brought Maeve a little treat!
While they were gone we tried to get some pictures of all the grandkids together on their farm as a surprise! Thanks to my sister we managed to get a few good pics of 7 kids ranging in age from 7 months-15 years old! Here are a few of the pictures!

In October, we spent our Fall Break at the River Perch with my family. Such a nice relaxing get away!

we spent Halloween at the beach (Martin's first) with our friends Drew and Tonya and their two precious boys!

We even did a little trick or treating while we were there....Maeve chose their costumes....a princess and a dragon!

In November, we celebrated as Nathan was announced Governor-elect for the state of Georgia! (Martin didn't quite make it to the end!)

we celebrated Martin's first Thanksgiving with both of our families!

and Britt had a successful duck hunt in Kansas!

In December, we made gingerbread cookies...

we decorated....
we made reindeer food...

we visited Santa...
we celebrated with the Hulsey's.....

and celebrated with the Dunagans.....

and finally Santa came to see us and not only did he bring us presents we got a WHITE Christmas!

Here is our Christmas video!

Wow what a year 2010 brought to my family! "As with every year I will look back on the times that I laughed and I will cry, and I will look back on the times that I cried and I will laugh". I am very thankful for another year with a job that I love and more memories made with my wonderful friends and family!
